Pozuzo: the origin of Dörcher tradition

Pozuzo: the origin of Dörcher tradition

Pozuzuo is not just the place where Dörcher Bier was born. It is an essential part of its identity. Located at Peru’s central jungle, Pozuzo is know for its nature, history and a living culture that combies astro-german roots with peruvian tradition. This mix has shaped an authentic community where traditions from abroad? Coexist with the surroundings, everyday life and a especial way to celebrate.

Dörcher is born precisely in such context. Its history begins in 2007, with the construction of a brewing plant from the ground up. It was not the start of a large factory or a massive industrial project. It was the beginning of a dream built on patience, learning, experimentation and lots of effort. Nearly after 2 years, in October 2009, the first Pilsener draft beer was served. That was the start of Dörcher Bier.

Since the beginning, Pozuzo has been present in every stage of Dörcher’s story. Its culture shapes the way beer is understood—not simply as a drink, but as part of gatherings, celebrations, and shared moments. In Pozuzo, beer is part of a way of life: enjoyed slowly, with respect for the process and appreciation for traditions preserved over time.

Austro-German influence is one of the foundations that gives Dörcher its character—not as an isolated tradition, but as part of a culture that has blended, adapted, and evolved in Peru. This influence can be seen in the pursuit of well-crafted, balanced beers with a distinctive identity.

One of the elements that connects Dörcher most directly to its origin is the use of pure spring water. This ingredient gives the beers freshness and purity, helping each variety develop its own distinctive character. In craft beer, water plays a fundamental role, influencing body, mouthfeel, and overall balance.

Dörcher also represents the evolution of a project that has grown without losing its essence. Over the years, the brand has introduced new flavors, expanded to different cities, and strengthened its identity through HACCP certification, canned products, and 100% solar-powered operations.

This growth reflects Dörcher’s ability to evolve while staying connected to its roots in Pozuzo. Rather than leaving its history behind, the brand uses it as the foundation for building a stronger, more authentic, and recognizable craft beer identity.

That is why talking about Dörcher also means talking about Pozuzo: a craft beer with a real story, a brand built from the ground up, and an experience that brings together tradition, Peruvian nature, inherited customs, and a passion for brewing.
